All India Association of Montfort Schools (AIAMS) Meet 2022

Mercure Goa Devaaya Retreat, Divar Islands, Goa from 25th - 27th November 2022

 

An annual conference for the Heads of the Montfortian institutions was organized by the All India Association of Montfort Schools [AIAMS] which was attended by about 120 Principals of 8 provinces across the country. The objective of the conference was to provide a platform for the Principals to converge , collaborate and share ideas. These sessions enlighten and inspire them through the inputs from highly knowledgeable and experienced resource persons. This not only helps in promoting diversity but also in creating an ambience where all people feel valued , respected with equal opportunities.

This year AIAMS organized the conference at Mercure Goa Devaaya Retreat, Divar Islands, Goa from 25th_ 27th November 2022. The Theme for the conference is Changing Course: Transforming Education. The inaugural function was graced with the presence of the dignitariesMost Rev. Elias J Gonsalves , Archbishop of Nagpur,Mr.Mauvin Godinho Honourable MLA & Minister for Transport, Industries & Panchayat, Mr.Rajesh Faldessai, Honourable MLA Cumbarjua Constituency, Mr. Michael Dsouza IAS Director (Vigilance) Goa. , Rev. Bro. John Kallarackal , Superior General , Montfort Brothers, Rome.


The resource persons for the various sessions were Mr. Francis Joseph (Educator & Collaborator), Fr. Dr. Paul Pudussery (CSC Social Science Researcher), Fr.Joye James (Vice President of Indian Social Institute Bangalore), Ms. Ekta Agarwal (CEO and Founder of SS Technologies), Dr. Ashok Pandey (Director Ahicon Group of Schools), Ms. Amrita Vohra ( Director of Education , GEMS India). Other speakers for the day included Rev.Bro.George Kalangod ( Yercaud Province), Rev. Bro.Jaico Gervasis (Provincial Superior, Pune Province) and Rev.Bro.Irudhayam M ( Provincial Superior, Trichy Province).


Montfort Academy team and the Vayam team played an important role in organising and co-ordinating the AIAMS meet at Divar Islands. The staff along with the student volunteers worked tirelessly for 3 days to make the arrangements for the event and to make it successful. The students of Montfort Academy participated in the inaugural and closing ceremony. The outline picture of St.Montfort was displayed at the venue for the participants to exhibit their artistic talents. The talk sessions by the eminent people as resource persons were really interesting and informational.


In short, the event was a learning opportunity and experience for the team of Montfort Academy and Vayam and first of its kind where the spirit of co-ordination and team work could be developed. We had a great opportunity to meet the eminent personalities and to interact with them.
